Balcony

Here is the main information we need to prepare your quote:

  1. the dimensions of the opening to be secured (perimeter, sides): width and height of each side
  2. the elements to which we can attach the net: walls, floor, ceiling, railing, and the materials involved. For example: brick wall, steel railing...
  3. the presence of an awning and the space it takes up when closed/extended; does it extend beyond the perimeter of the balcony or terrace?
  4. the presence of obstacles or unusual openings (for example: a large gap between the railing and the vertical side wall).
  5. photos of each side, mainly where we will be able to attach the net or its supports (a video is also welcome).
  6. Access: floor of the flat, stairs, lift,  access for our vehicle, etc.

Here are a few examples of very useful sketches and information:

Velux

How do you take the measurements for a Velux safety frame?

The Velux frame is fitted inside the home -- not on the roof.
The opening axis of a Velux is located either at the top or in the middle:

  • - at the top:  the part of the Velux that opens is at the bottom,
    - in the middle:  the Velux pivots: the lower part then sits outside while the upper part comes into the home.

Here is an illustration to help you take the right measurements.
